Series: Johnson Claims Fourth VRS Win at North Georgia
By Chris Tilley
CHATSWORTH, Ga. — Sept. 4. Ronnie Johnson now has four Volunteer Racing Series event wins - three of them at North
Georgia Speedway, just south of his Chattanooga, Tenn. home.
Johnson took the lead from Tommy Kerr on lap six and never looked back, being challenged several times, but went on
to claim victory, driving the Miller Bros. Coal, Simmon’s Lawn Care, and Koontz Plumbing & Construction
sponsored Vinson powered MasterSbilt.
There were six yellow flags that slowed Johnson's progress. The first was for David Payne slowing at the top of
turn one. Gary McPherson brough the next two cautions, one when he spun on lap ten, and again when he passed cars
from the tail end of the field before reaching the start/finish line.
The next yellow flag would wave on lap 17 as John Owenbey spun in turn two, while a lap 21 caution waved as
Ronnie Payne spun. The final yellow came on lap 27 as John Owenbey epun in turn two.
