TOPEKA, Kan. - Oct. 6. Billy Moyer, Jr. led all 30 laps and held off a hard charging John Anderson late in the race to score his first ever Lucas Oil MLRA feature event win Thursday night at Heartland Park, Topeka.

"I was just trying to ride there until I saw a nose," Moyer said of his pace late in the race. "Our car was just phenomenal. We've been running terrible here lately. It's good to finally get a special event victory. I'd love to get another one here tomorrow."

John Anderson was the evening's runner up. "I was trying to put some pressure on him (Moyer), but he didn't flinch," said Anderson. "He did a great job. I did all I could do there the last five laps."

Anderson put two more points between himself and Al Purkey in the MLRA points chase, and now has an 18 point advantage with just three races left in the 2011 season. Purkey finished 3rd.

Heat race wins went to Moyer, Jeremy Payne and Terry Phillips. Action will continue Friday evening with a $3,500 to win Lucas Oil MLRA race.
