COLUMBUS, Miss. - Oct. 29. Just one week after claiming his first win in Mississippi at Whynot Motorsports Park's "Fall Classic", Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga. headed north to Columbus and found out how Brian Birkhofer felt last year after his identical 2010 sweep of both that event and the subsequent "Cotton Pickin' 100" at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

Davenport earned the pole slot in Friday's qualifying heat races and led the first 40 laps of Saturday's main event before Billy Moyer got around as the midpoint of the race approached. Moyer was able to maintain control up front through traffic until Scott Bloomquist got around Davenport and began ro reel in the leader, who had become mired behind Clint Smith, his #44 car glued to the bottom of the track.

What may have been another showdown between the sport's two greatest titans over the years, Moyer and Bloomquist, took a different turn when Moyer tried Smith on the low side. The two machines touched and Smith went spinning, setting up the race's lone caution flag on lap 63.

At the new green, Moyer led Bloomquist and Davenport, who saw an opening and blew past both to retake his lost lead, one he would keep for the final 37 circuits en route to his second $15,000 win in as many weeks. With the late restart, Shane Clanton found some extra ponies and raced past Dennis Erb, Birkhofer, Bloomquist, and finally Moyer to earn the second place finish in the late laps.
