Ten Grand, Fifteen Minutes For Davenport at Winchester "Raye Vest Memorial" track report WINCHESTER, Va. - Oct. 15. Jonathan Davenport picked up the $10,000 "Raye Vest Memorial" on Saturday at Winchester Speedway15 minutes, 23 seconds in a caution-free 50-lap event. After 49 Late Model teams checked into the pit area and took time trials, the drivers were broken down into two 24-lap qualifiers. Fast qualifier Lathroum took the lead in the first, but contact between him and Davenport sent Lathroum spinning and Davenport on to the $1,000 win. Ronnie Dehaven picked up the second qualifier to set the remaining 12 positions in the 24-car field. Davenport and Dehaven led the feature field to green. The duo battled for several laps before Davenport pulled ahead by several lengths. The leaders encountered lapped traffic on lap 11, and would have to pick and choose their moves carefully. Davenport had a little breathing room by lap 26 over Dehaven, who gave it everything he had, but could not make the pass. Davenport would pick up the win in the caution free event over Dehaven, Jason Covert, Vic Coffey, and Booper Bare. In a special Friday night event at Winchester, paying $5,000 to the winner, Jamie Lathroum took the lion's share over Davenport, Coffey, Covert, Rick Eckert, Austin Hubbard, Dan Stone, and Jeremy Miller.
