WEST PLAINS, Mo. - Billy Moyer passed polesitter Jesse Stovall on lap five, and led the remaining 25 laps to score his 37th career Lucas Oil MLRA win.

In AAA Missouri Victory Lane, Moyer talked about his early pass for the lead on Stovall. "He just overcharged the corner there a little bit. I just ran a little lower than he did. It was going to get interesting there, it looked like."

Al Purkey and John Anderson at West Plains

At the end of the night, #2 John Anderson held a slim four-point lead over #33 Al Purkey in MLRA championship points.(Lloyd Collins)

Continuing to step up his game after a mid-season slump, R.C. Whitwell races under #1 Jack Sullivan before posting third at West Plains. (Lloyd Collins)

Moyer encountered lapped traffic late in the race as the final 11 laps were contested caution free.

The championship battle isn't much clearer after tonight's race. John Anderson finished seventh, after he and David Turner got together coming off turn four. Terry Phillips was also in the wreck. Turner and Anderson continued on, while Phillips retired for the evening. Al Purkey was the ninth place finisher, and is now down four points to Anderson with the final race of the season Saturday.
