NLMS: Lloyd Decimates Field in Ocala Final

OCALA, Fla. - Nov. 26. Ivedent Lloyd, Jr. prevailed as the National Late Model Series Hedman Hussler Hedders Southern Dirt Tour finished its season at Bubba Raceway Park with an intense points battle between three drivers.

Lloyd took the lead and raced out front until, on lap eight, John Koller spun out of turn four. Lloyd led Mark Whitener and Austin Kirkpatrick at this point, but the next 40 laps saw Lloyd completely dominate as he lapped all but Whitener's car, who at one time was three-quarters of a lap down himself.

On lap 48 Bobby Richardson lost air in a tire and found the turn two wall, ending Lloyd's chances of lapping the whole field. Whitener, the BRP champion, was left with Lloyd on the lead lap as Lloyd claimed the $5000 check and the National Late Model Series championship.

Jeff Mathews showed that he can run the Late Model with the best and he finished third with Austin Kirkpatrick a solid fourth ahead of Jason Fitzgerald.

Dillon Wood finished eighth, but held on to place second in the standings at Bubba Raceway Park. Bo Allen and Brandon DeWitt completed the top ten.
