Lucas Claims Second MSCC Win on the Coast

MILTON, Fla. - May 1. Shep Lucas led every lap to drive to his second win of the season on the Mississippi State Championship Challenge (MSCC) Series Saturday evening  at Southern Raceway.

Lucas, of McKenzie, Alabama, started on the pole alongside Jason Phillips and showed the way for the remainder. While Phillips fell out of contention, young Meridian, Miss. driver Chad Thrash worked his way from his fourth row start to advance to second. Florida panhandle driver Frank Wilson was third ahead of Steve Bryan, while Birmingham's Anthony Burroughs stepped onto the tour for a fifth place finish.
