CLMA: Kirchoff Takes Rough Ride to Season's First Win RAPID CITY, S.D. - May 13. Eddie Kirchoff westled a rough race track, cold temperatures, and a couple of race challenges to get his first win of the season in Friday's Championship Late Model Association (CLMA) event at Black Hills Speedway. The Gillette, Wyo. veteran picked his way forward on the punishing surface trying to preserve tires, wheels, and suspension parts as area ace Scott Anderson led the early going. As traffic came into play, Kirchoff made his move and pushed by the leader on lap ten. Eric Mass followed suit after a restart from caution, but after a brief challenge to Kirchoff's top spot, Mass pulled off the track with radiator fluid flowing from his damaged radiator. Back into second, Anderson to close on Kirchoff somewhat, but fell three lengths short at the stripe. Sturgis veteran John took third, with Rapid City drivers Mike Stadel and Brent Nielsen completing the top five.
