Kentucky's Wolter Caps Winternationals Final with NASRA Victory

GIBSONTON, Fla. - March 6. Bobby Wolter, Jr. of Lexington, Ky., claimed the win in the 35-lap National All Star Racing Association (NASRA) Late Model feature event Saturday at East Bay Raceway Park. The race concluded the now month-long 34th annual East Bay Winternationals.

Wolter started third in the 23-car field and quickly jumped to second behind leader Wayne Chinn. When Chinn slowed on Lap 16 with apparent ignition trouble, Wolter assumed the lead and led the way to the $3,000 win over d efending NASRA national champion Aaron Ridley, Friday winner Skylar Mylar, Arnie Fields, and former local Late Model champion David Schmauss.

In Victory Lane, a jubilant Wolter recognized his crew and the fans.

"I have to thank my crew. It was a team effort by everybody. This bunch of guys has worked so hard to make this happen. What a win. I hope the fans got their money's worth and enjoyed it as much as I did. It sure was fun from where I was sitting," he said.

Wolter, Chinn and Mylar won 10-lap heat races, while Christian Rayburn won the B-Main event.
