CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- March 20. With veteran and local dirt track racing "school
teacher" Dale McDowell in pursuit, Jonathan Davenport of Blairesville, Ga. accomlished a major feat Saturday at
Cleveland Speedway. The young driver captured the $10,000 captured the $10,000 pot of gold at the southeast

After McDowell managed to shed an equally stiff challenge from third running Jimmy Owens, he
was able to reel in the leader Davenport and had his #17m breathing down Davenport's neck at the finish, but would
have to settle for second.
With Chris Wall earning the pole position, Davenport took the lead from from the outside
front row at the start and led the race in its entirety, with the only caution coming on lap 13 for the evening''s
fast qualifier, Ray Cook, who blew an engine on lap 13.
Wall was able to keep Chris Madden at bay to claim fourth place behind Owens, while
young William Thomas earned asixth place finish.
