Eckert's Stock Rises With Winchester Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Win

WINCHESTER, Va. - June 7. Rick Eckert, of York, Pa., started his familiar #24 on the pole position and finessed a slick 3/8-mile oval for his second special event win of the season and his first so far on the "Appalachian Mountain Speedweek" mini-series.

Eckert immediately went into the lead and the top three was soon set as Josh Richards moved to second by lap seven, and Covert quickly followed suit as DeHaven began to lose ground. Richards got within striking distance and looked underneath Eckert late in the race, but would have to settle for second ahead of Covert, Jimmy Mars, and Keith Jackson. ~ Series, track, and/or correspondent reports.
