Linville Lands “Junebug
Memorial" at Ponderosa
JUNCTION CITY, Ky. - June 24. Ponderosa Speedway returned to action on Friday after a five-week
layoff and Dustin Linville of Lancaster, Ky. grabbed the win in the 12th annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland
Justin Rattliff took the lead over Greg Johnson for the first 15 laps, interrupted by five caution periods. A
restart on lap 16 saw Linville execute a "slide job" on Johnson for the second spot just before another caution as
the field started lap 17. Rattliff’s mount suffered mechanical issues on the restart, turning the lead over to
Linville as Rattliff pulled pitside for the remainder of the event.
With this turn of events, Linville, the eighth place starting, second-generation racer would not be headed after
the final of nine cautions waved on lap 27. Linville drove to the victory in the seat of the Jesse Puckett owned
#88. Johnson took runner-up honors, while 10th starting Johnny Wheeler finished third. Victor Lee rallied for a
fourth place finish after pitting with a flat tire on one of the three cautions on lap 15, while 19th starting
David Webb ran as high as third before settling for fifth.
