Summer Nationals: ...and one to grow on; Champion Fegers Feathers His Nest With Lincoln Makeup Win

LINCOLN, Ill. - July 25. Though the chase for the title had been settled with Jason Feger's crowning as the new Summer Nationals "Hell Tour" champion, there was just one score that had to be settled on Friday at Lincoln

Speedway. As 14 of the 33 drivers who qualified for the rained out July 4th event returned for the 40-lap UMP-sanctioned makeup feature, Feger added another win just for good measure.

On a hot, sunny afternoon. The track held up well and provided a good surface for Feger, "The Highside Hustler" to out-hustle Brian Shirley to the checkers. The win was worth $5000 and concluded the 2010 Summer Nationals tour for the Series Champion.

Polesitter Dennis Erb Jr was the early leader, challenged heavily after ten or so laps by Brandon Sheppard, but after the two raced side by side and exchanged the lead for the next five circuits, the pair got tangled up in two at the race's midpoint to force the first race caution.

With that, Feger had to hold off a bid for the top spot by Shirley to garner another win to adde to his championship winning 2010 "Hell Tour" record.
