Ogle Reels in "Charles Trammell Memorial" Race Win at

TAZEWELL, Tenn. - April 10. The
2010 racing season at the Gary Hall owned speedplant nicknamed the "Taz" got underway on a beautiful Saturday
evening with the "Charles Trammell Memorial". Billy Ogle, Jr. of Knoxville
powered by Rick Rogers on lap 36 to claim his first win of the 2010 season.
The opening race was dedicated
to the life of Charles Trammell, a much decorated and dedicated racer and fan of Tazewell Speedway, and foining
Tazewell Speedway for its first-time sanctioning of a "Taz" event was C.J.

Rick Rogers got the early advantage until an incident left Jeff
Wolfenbarger stopped on the inside of the track, where Brad Albright had earlier found the wall. After the racers were regrouped, Rogers shot out to a good lead, but as the cars
circled the track to begin lap four, David Webb was leading, and Steve Smith was into second place, looking to
On lap nine, Rogers had battled
back to the point, but caution slowed the pace when contact left Vic Hill and Ogle stopped on the
track. Ogle was able to
Aaron Ridley parked his #81 atop Dustin Linville's #8 car at
one point at Tazewell, but Ridley was able to keep going for the restart. (Michael Moats)
drive away but the Hill machine
was too damaged to continue. Mike Weeks came out of the smoke and
dust in third, just behind Webb and Rogers.
A lap 10 crash left Brian Smith
damaged, and Wayne Chinn and Aaron Ridley hooked together on the frontstretch, while the field also had to slow
to miss the #11 car of Bobby Wolter, Jr. Another lap 10 crash halted
the race restart when Dustin Linville and Aaron Ridley found trouble on the frontstretch. Ridley escaped and was able to continue, despite wreckes having to pull his car
from atop the racecar of Linville.
The leader Webb found trouble as
the race tried to resume and he gave the point once again over to Rogers, with Weeks second and Kerr third as
flagman Bruce Caylor tried yet another lap 10 restart for the 12 remaining cars.

With the race running under
green for awhile, Ogle slid boldly around Kerr and into second, and lap 36 saw Ogle pass Rogers at the
flagstand, then power away with the win over Rogers, Kerr, Weeks and Mike Marlar.
After climbing from his Calhouns
Resturant, Kilby Equipment, Grady and King Construction, Gabby's Alternator, Corvette bodied, #201, Ogle talked
about his race, "We tried a setup that we thought would be good for a dry-slick track and I believe that it
helped us in the end." Asked about a bold maneuver to

clear two cars in about
200 feet, he added, "I took the high side and had such a momentum run that I just had to wobble between them
like passing cars on an interstate. I just knew I had to make the
move and didn't know if I had them cleared or not."
The Tazewell Late Model win went
to Jason Welshan, his first ever at Tazewell.
