EASTABOGA, Ala. – Jan. 10. Randall Walker of Pell City, Alabama grew up racing at Talladega Short Track and raced in many divisions before making the step up to TST’s head-lining super late model division about three years ago. The twenty-four year old driver had previously scored a $5000 Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series “War Between the States” victory in 2006 at the third mile oval aptly deemed “The Hornet’s Nest”. He had also been victorious in TST’s mid-winter classic picking up the Ice Bowl trophy in the limited late model division a few years back. However Walker ranks this $6000 triumph as his biggest ever. “Yeah this is the top one, the biggest race to win at Talladega. Everybody that races here wants to win it. You circle the date on your calendar and hope you pull it off every year, so I am happy to do it.” Walker said after the

race.  Walker began the weekend on the right foot picking up overall fast time honors of the 62 car field. His lap of 14.254 seconds just edged 2007 Ice Bowl champion Billy Mayo, of Cleveland, Tennessee, by two one hundredths of a second.
